Honesty, Open-mindedness, and Willingness

Experience has repeatedly demonstrated that there are several factors, which promote a positive experience. If you can embrace a new ideal, you will be able to complete your goals and feel good about all you have accomplished. 

  • Accept that you are responsible for your own behavior.

  • Give up behavior that does not work well for you. 

  • Commit yourself to change your unhealthy behaviors.

  • Learn from mistakes and exploring why you made these mistakes.

  • Commit to being open about your thoughts and feelings and do not keep secrets. 

  • Commit to talking directly to staff and peers about your feelings rather than acting out. 

  • Commit to being honest in all your relationships and being honest with yourself. 

  • Be willing to follow program rules and limits even if you disagree with them.

  • Value and develop relationships with others so that trusting relationships will be an important life goal. 

  • Accept the value of work which includes going to work, setting goals, and striving toward financial independence.  

  • Grow from your own experiences and be willing to take advantage of these experiences as "teachable moments." 

  • Believe that the Management staff is dedicated to helping you achieve and maintain your recovery!
